میں لب کشائی کا زیور تھاما ہوا ہوں
میں خود کو لوگوں کے ہاتھوں بٓٹا ہوا ہوں
مجھے کوئی غرض نہیں تم میری قابلیت چھپا رہے ہو
میں شاعر ہوں، تبھی تھوڑا سٹیایا ہوا ہوں
کبھی درد سینے میں، کبھی آنسو رخسار پر ہیں
میں اب خاموش ہی رہوں گا، میں تھوڑا گھبرایا ہوا ہوں
میں نے کافی پروانے چراغ کی تپش میں جلتے دیکھے ہیں
میں ایسا نہیں کروں گا، میں محبت کے ہاتھوں ستایا ہوا ہوں
کبھی ہوتی تھی خواہش گود میں سر ہو، اور سر پر ہاتھ پھیرے کوئی
میں تو ٹھہرا ناچیز، درندہ تو اُن کی سوچ سے بنایا گیا ہوں
