ناول “وصل” از فارعہ امین جنگِ آزادی کے دور کے حالات اور اُس وقت لوگوں پر گزرنے والی مشکلات کو بہت خوبصورتی سے بیان کرتا ہے۔ ٹرینوں کے ذریعے لوگوں کا ایک جگہ سے دوسری جگہ جانا، راستے میں پیش آنے والے حادثات اور اُس وقت کے خراب حالات کو پڑھ کر اُس دور کی مشکل زندگی کا اندازہ ہوتا ہے۔
ناول کے چار ابواب ہیں اور ہر باب میں کہانی کو ایک الگ انداز سے آگے بڑھایا گیا ہے۔ پہلا باب “بازگشت” حال کے واقعات کو دکھاتا ہے، جبکہ “نارسیدہ خواب” میں ماضی کی طرف لے جایا گیا ہے۔ اس کے بعد “فراق” میں جدائی کے جذبات کو بہت اچھے انداز میں پیش کیا گیا ہے۔ مجھے خاص طور پر ماضی اور حال کو اس طرح جوڑنا بہت اچھا لگا، جس سے کہانی مزید دلچسپ ہو گئی۔
عباس صاحب اور گلبانو کے کردار مجھے بہت پسند آئے۔ ان دونوں کے کرداروں میں ایک الگ کشش تھی اور ان کے درمیان ہونے والے ڈائیلاگز بھی بہت اچھے لگے۔ ناول کے جملے زیادہ مشکل نہیں تھے، بلکہ سادہ اور آسان تھے، لیکن پھر بھی کئی جگہ دل کو چھو جانے والے تھے۔
