ABOUT SEBT.PK

Welcome to SEBT.PK, a literary platform dedicated to supporting and empowering Urdu writers in Pakistan and beyond.

Sebt was created with a simple idea: talented writers often struggle not because they lack creativity, but because they lack guidance, editorial support, and access to publishing opportunities. Our platform bridges that gap by helping writers refine their work and present it professionally.

For nearly three years, Sebt has provided its services free of cost to emerging writers. These services include proofreading, editorial guidance, cover design, promotional support, reviews, and digital publication.

Our goal is not simply to publish writing, but to help writers develop stronger voices and produce work they can be proud of.

Our Motto

“اپنا تصور ثبت کرو”

Make a Mark with Your Creativity.

At Sebt, we believe ideas deserve to be preserved, shaped, and shared with care.

Our Mission

Sebt exists to strengthen Urdu literature by building a supportive ecosystem for writers and readers alike.

1. Empowering Writers

Every writer deserves the opportunity to grow. Sebt provides editorial advice and constructive feedback to help writers refine their craft.

2. Preserving Literary Quality

Writers play a vital role in shaping cultural and literary heritage. Sebt promotes thoughtful, meaningful literature that reflects society authentically.

3. Expanding Creative Horizons

We encourage writers to explore diverse genres, themes, and styles. Literature thrives when creativity is allowed to experiment and evolve.

4. Changing Perceptions

Through consistent literary work, we hope to contribute to a stronger global appreciation of Urdu literature and Pakistan’s creative voices.

Sebt Publication Policy

As Sebt continues to grow, we have introduced a new policy regarding publication rights.

Previously, works published on Sebt were required to remain exclusive to the platform. However, after multiple requests from writers and careful consideration, Sebt now allows writers to share their published work on other platforms under specific conditions.

This policy ensures flexibility for writers while maintaining clear publishing standards.

Procedure for Sharing Work with Other Platforms

1. Open the Google Form provided through our Instagram bio or via direct message.

2. Complete the one-page affidavit included in the form.

The affidavit must contain signatures from you and another Sebt writer.

3. Upload the signed affidavit and fill in the remaining details.

4. Submit the form and notify Sebt after completion.

This process applies whether you wish to:

• Publish Sebt work on another platform

• Publish work on Sebt that already exists elsewhere

Fee for Sharing Publishing Rights

As of 2026, the following registration fee applies to each piece of writing:

• PKR 300 per piece

• PKR 150 per piece for writers who already have three or more works published on Sebt

Each piece requires a separate affidavit and fee.

If a writer has more than five works, a PKR 750 consolidated fee may be paid for permission covering all works.

This fee structure may vary based on the current Sebt policy and currency rates of the time period.

Rights and Agreements

The affidavit grants permission to share publishing rights that were originally assigned to Sebt through the writer agreement.

If a writer wishes to remove their work from Sebt, the fine and service charges mentioned in the original agreement will still apply.

All agreements are signed with full consent, and the procedures stated within them remain binding.

Projects Exempt from This Policy

This policy does not apply to the following:

• Sebt ebooks

• Sebt audiobooks

• Novels published by Sebt in printed book format

• Anthologies produced by Sebt such as Taskheer

• Works published through Khamosh Na Raho

These projects remain under Sebt’s full publishing rights as specified in their respective agreements (except Khamoshi Na Raho which has no writer agreement and writers are free to publish projects of KNR flagship on whichever sites they wish).

International Writers

Writers from India and Kashmir who cannot make payments through Pakistani banking systems may use the Indian account listed in the form.

Through this account, writers may also purchase Rawish magazine, Taskheer ebooks, and other Sebt publications, in addition to completing the registration process.

Writer Expectations

Sebt is committed to providing editorial support, design, and promotional services to writers. In return, we expect writers to maintain professional communication and cooperation throughout the publication process. Submitted work should be the writer’s original creation, and writers are expected to respect the timelines and procedures required for editing, revisions, and publication. Sebt reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet basic literary or ethical standards, or to pause publication if necessary cooperation from the writer is not received. Our goal is to maintain a respectful, collaborative environment that benefits both writers and the literary community.

Responsibility and Platform Disclaimer

Once a writer receives permission to publish their work on other platforms, Sebt holds no responsibility for how that work is edited, presented, promoted, or otherwise handled by those platforms. Any disputes regarding edits, copyright, or treatment of the work on external platforms must be addressed directly between the writer and the respective platform.

Sebt’s permission only allows the sharing of publishing rights originally assigned through the writer agreement. It does not constitute supervision or endorsement of other platforms.

Removal of Work

If a writer wishes to remove their work from Sebt, the process outlined in the original Writer Agreement will apply.

As stated in the agreement signed at the time of publication, removal requests require payment of the specified fine and service charges associated with the editorial, design, and promotional services provided by Sebt.

Sebt reserves the right to retain published work on the platform until these contractual obligations are fulfilled.

All agreements are signed voluntarily and are considered binding upon submission and publication.

Submission to Sebt implies acceptance of all stated guidelines, agreements, and publication policies.

Looking Ahead

Sebt will soon complete three years of literary work.

During this time, our team has voluntarily provided numerous services to writers including:

• Editorial reviews

• Instagram promotion

• Proofreading and corrections

• Cover design

• Audiobook production

• YouTube literary content

Upcoming announcements regarding Sebt ebooks and Rawish magazine will introduce new ways for readers to access literature and for writers to receive financial compensation.

Our long-term goal is to ensure that every contributor involved in the literary process — writers, editors, designers, and reviewers — receives meaningful recognition for their work.

Appreciation is important, but a sustainable literary culture also requires financial value for creative labor.

Thank You

Sebt exists because of the writers and readers who support it.

We are a small volunteer team, and your cooperation helps us continue building a stronger space for Urdu literature.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
