پہلا قدم از اقصیٰ فاروق ثبت کی ویبسائیٹ کے لیے لکھا گیا ایک ایسا افسانہ جس کا موضوع نہایت ہی اہم ہے۔ ہمارے معاشرے کی سب سے دردناک اور تلخ حقیقت جسے صدیوں سے آج تک کوئی مٹا نہیں پایا۔ بیٹیاں ہمیشہ بوجھ کیوں ہوتی ہیں؟ جہاں قدیم زمانوں میں صفت نسواں کو دفنا دیا جاتا تھا وہاں آج بھی اُنہیں چار دیواریوں میں طنز و تذلیل کے نشتر سے چھلنی کیوں کیا جاتا ہے؟ ہم اکثر کہتے ہیں کہ تعلیم پڑھے لکھے ہونے اور جاہل ہونے میں فرق بتلاتی ہے مگر ایسا بالکل نہیں ہے۔ اس زمانے میں آج بھی پڑھے لکھے جاہل پائے جاتے ہیں جیسے اس کہانی کا ایک کردار ۔ یہ افسانہ زینب اور ایسی کئی لڑکیوں کی ایسی کئی عورتوں کی داستان۔ہے جنہیں. اس جدید دور میں بھی تفریق کی اذیت سے دوچار ہونا پڑتا ہے۔ بلاشبہ مصنفہ کے کرداروں کی پختگی بہترین تھی۔لکھنے انداز اور جملوں کی بنت بھی بہت اچھے سے کی گئی تھی۔ مناظر کی بات کی جائے تو منظر نگاری پر مصنفہ نے خاص توجہ تو نہیں دی،لیکن چونکہ یہ افسانہ ہے تو اس میں بہت سے مناظر کا مختصر ہونا واضح تھا البتہ زینب کے کردار کو مصنفہ نے جس ہمت کے ساتھ آگے بڑھ کر پہلا قدم اُٹھانے کی کوشش کی سیکھ کا پیغام ہم تک پہنچایا وہ قابل تعریف ہے۔ مرکزی خیال کا ذکر اوپر ہوچکا ہے۔ یعنی عورت مضبوط ہے اگر وہ اپنے اختیارات اور چناؤ بہترین انداز میں کرلے۔ پہلا قدم مشکل سہی مگر کارآمد ثابت ہوتا ہے۔ آخر میں یہی کہوں گی کہ مصنفہ کی کاوش قابل دید ہے۔اس افسانے کو ہر ایک شخص کو پڑھنا چاہیے۔ انسان کو انسان صرف تعلیم سے نہیں تہذیب اور تربیت سے پڑھالکھا کہلایا جاتا ہے۔وہ جو ہر ایک کی عزت کرے چاہے وہ کوئی عورت کیوں نہ ہو۔ اس سبق آموز حقیقت سے قریب تر افسانے کو پڑھنے کے لیے جڑے رہیے ثبت کے ساتھ۔
